GTAVI.ZONE is a fan forum run by one person as a hobby. It is not a company, it makes no money, and it sells nothing — including your data.
But it does hold some of your data, because a forum cannot work otherwise. This page says what, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we hold
Because you have an account: your email address, your username, and your password — stored only as a salted hash, so nobody here can see it. We do not ask for your real name, and the signup form does not have the field.
Because you used the site: your IP address, your browser and device details, and timestamps of what you did. Your IP is recorded when you register and when you post. This is ordinary forum operation, and it is also how we catch spam and people evading bans.
Because you posted: your topics, replies, private messages, likes, flags, uploaded images and your profile settings. Anything in a public category is public and will be picked up by search engines. Treat it that way.
Cookies: a session cookie and, if you stay logged in, an authentication token. Both are needed for the forum to function. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics on this site.
Who else sees it
A few services help run the forum. They act on our instructions, not on their own account.
| Service | What it gets | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) | Your IP address and browser signals, on the signup form only | Stops bots registering. Turnstile is a privacy-oriented captcha and is not used for advertising profiles. |
| Only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google tells us your email address and name; Google learns that you signed in here. | Optional sign-in | |
| Discord | Only if you choose to sign in with Discord. Discord tells us your email address and username; Discord learns that you signed in here. | Optional sign-in |
| Our email provider | Your email address, and the content of emails we send you | Account and notification email |
| Our hosting provider | Everything above, as the machine the forum runs on | Hosting |
Signing in with Google or Discord is optional — you can always create an ordinary account with an email address and password instead.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we hand it to anyone else only if the law requires it or if someone’s safety depends on it.
How long we keep it
Posts stay as long as the forum does — they are part of conversations other people joined. Technical logs including IP addresses are kept for 90 days and then discarded.
If you delete your account, we anonymise it: your account and personal details go, and your posts stay attached to an anonymous placeholder so that threads remain readable.
What you can ask for
You have rights over your data under the GDPR. We honour them wherever you live:
- A copy of everything we hold about you — the forum can generate a full export of your posts and account data.
- A correction — most of it you can edit yourself in your preferences.
- Deletion of your account, as described above.
- To object to a particular use, or to have your data handed over in a portable format.
Write to contact@gtavi.zone. We will get back to you within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how it went, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Age
This forum is for adults and is about a game rated PEGI 18 / ESRB Mature. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18. If you think a child has an account here, tell us and we will remove it.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are hashed. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Staff cannot browse the member email list — that view is switched off. This is a hobby forum, not a bank, and we will not pretend otherwise: if something happens that affects your data, we will say so.
Links away from here
This forum is mostly links — to news, videos and social media. Once you follow one you are somewhere else, under someone else’s policy. That is not ours to answer for.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the change and update the date at the top.
